2016 Canal Days Queen: Alexis Deffenbaugh
Alexis is the daughter of Rusty and Brenda Deffenbaugh and is a 2017 graduate of Delphos St. Johns High School. In high school, Alexis was a very active member of the Blue Jay Music Program, participating in choir, band, and the school musicals. She plays several instruments, including Clarinet, Saxophone, and the guitar. In the spring of her senior year, Alexis played the role of Gertrude McFuzz in Suessical the Musical. Alexis was a member of the Liturgy Team, SADD, and NHS. Since being crowned queen, she has been keeping busy graduating high school, working at Pizza Hut, and helping mentor this year’s group of Canal Days Queen Contestants. Alexis will be attending Bowling Green University in the fall, and has already been accepted into the school of Music. In the past year, Alexis has been a wonderful role model, queen, and a fabulous representative of our community.
2016 Junior Miss Canal Days: Kennedy Sterling
Kennedy Sterling is the daughter of Derek and Kellie Sterling. She will be a fifth grade student at Delphos St. John's Elementary School. Kennedy's greatest love is dance and she will be starting her 8th year at The Dancer by Gina. In the past she has performed in the Ohio Northern University's Holiday Spectacular and is already making plans to attend college there. In her spare time she plays soccer for the Delphos League and she loves to sing and swim with her friends.
2016 Little Miss Canal Days: Elayna Stokes
Elayna Stokes is 6 years old and is starting kindergarten as a Wildcat at Franklin Elementary school. She is the daughter of Malcom and Erin Stokes and has a large family, including her tow older sisters, Addy and Claire and a younger brother, Zion. In her spare time Elayna enjoys participating in sports like gymnastics and soccer and is very involved in her Sunday school program.
