ADOPT A FIRE HYDRANT  New for 2017 Registration Form

Adopt-A-Hydrant is a new event this year. This before-Canal-Days event is open to any business or person or group that would like to show their creative side by painting a hydrant. To Adopt-A-Hydrant fill out the attached registration form and return it to the Delphos Chamber office. You will be contacted and assigned a hydrant to paint at your convenience. Be as creative as you want becasue the judges will be around after August 31st to pick the Best Cartoon and the Most Creative hydrant. Everyone else will be able to vote for Peoples Choice winner.  Plaques with owners name(s) will be put on each hydrant for voting and winners will be announced on Sunday of Canal Days under the social tent around 6:00 PM. Try to beautify Delphos by adopting a hydrant today!!. BASKET BINGO View the Flyer Prize List 

Basket Bingo is back!  Back by popular demand Basket Bingo will be on Saturday, September 16 from 1:00 to 3:00 under the social tent. Ticket are $30 per person for 20 games.  Extra cards will be available to ticket holders two for $10.00.  New this year we will be selling chances to win 4 designer purses between games.  And we will have a 50/50 drawing for all kinds of chances to win big.

Plan your strategy and get the most coordinated employees you have together for Canal Days Battle of the Businesses. Send in your pre-registration form before August 28th to receive team t-shirts and be included in the fun-time battle games. Teams must be at least 16 years of age to participate and may consist of  4 – 6 members, and two small companies may even join together and partner to compete as one team.

The Battle will begin at 6:00 sharp next to the Social Tent on Main Street. Participates must be ready for messy, far-fetched games of luck, not skill, during this hour and half long event on Friday night of Canal Days. Practice being graceful and sharpen up your dexterity skills for this fun event. You may just walk away with the BIG trophy. Last year’s winning team was LAKEVIEW FARMS #2 and this year it could be you!!!


The Canal Days Car Show will once again be held on Main Street, just south of Fifth. All Car Show participants may enter the show off Fifth Street between the VFW Memorial Park and the Canal.  The show will run from 4:00pm-8:00pm. Cost to participate in the show will be $10 and trophies shall be awarded in each class.  More special attractions for the car show will be released when available.


CRAFT AND VENDOR FAIR  Registration Form
The Craft and Vendor Fair will again grace Canal Days on Second Street between the Post Office and Canal Street. It will accept artisan products, crafts, direct sales, canned goods and other homemade items. Make sure to sign up soon in order to get a spot but be sure to take stroll through the tents during the day in a quest for that one great find.

The Craft and Vendor Fair will be help on Saturday, September 16,  from 9 am till 5 pm.  Participating vendors will be chosen as applications are received and no duplicate vendors will be accepted.  Booth space is $30 for a 10 X 10 space and interested vendors may download a registration form or email

Need a break from the heat? Then be sure to stop into the First Financial Bank on the Northwest corner of Main and Second, to check out their Art Exhibit.  Featuring the arts and crafts of local artists, this show will not disappoint, especially in the air conditioning!

FIVE K RUN / WALK View the Flyer
Are you an avid runner? If so, check out the 19th annual 5K Run that will take place on Sunday, September 17, 2017. Registration starts at 8:00 AM on the corner of Second and Main Streets. The Race will begin on Second Street on the Canal at 9:00a.m.  The route has been adjusted slightly from last year in order to have a regulation Five K but it will end up in front of WDOH as usual. The route will head west on Second Street through to Westbrook then north beside cemetery and back to State Street. It will then go left on Lincoln Highway and out through the Menke addition and then back to Lincoln Hwy, State Street back through to Westbrook to Second Street . Pre-register by August 25th to be will guarantee you a Canal Days T-shirt.  Print your Five K registration form today!

The Canal Days Five K is the 3rd race in the Delphos Running Series!!!  Run all three and receive a pull over jacket from St. Rita's and medal from the Peak.

The Delphos FFA has a tradition of success and excellence when it comes to Agricultural Education.  Why not stop by their Putt Putt Golf Course and show them your support!  Located on the intersection of Main and Second Street, the FFA returns to Canal Days every year with their Golf Course to offer something more than your traditional carnival game.

Each year, Canal Days offers FREE musical entertainment in the Social Tent each night of the festival!  Check out our entertainment page for a complete list of this year’s bands!

GOLF CART POKER RUN New for 2017  

Canal Days has added a Golf Cart Poker Run to the schedule of event this year.  Golf Cart can meet at the FJ Telephone/Communication parking lot at the corner of 4th and Washington Street.  Registration begins at 2:00 PM under the Social Tent and the golf cart does not have to be licensed in order to join in the fun.

Cost is $15 per person.  A map of all the poker stops will be given to everyone along with the rules and regulations.  You will not be allowed to use the main streets such as Fifth Street for the poker run. The Best Hand will win $100 and a Worst Hand receives $25.

After the Poker Run stay around for the afternoon entertainment. JK All Day will be playing acoustics under the social tent from 4PM to 7 PM and Canal days will be offering Happy Hour on beers.  Come and enjoy the afternoon at Delphos Canal Days!


The annual Grand Prize Drawing will be held on Sunday evening, at 6:00 PM wrapping up the Canal Days Weekend.  This year the raffle drawing will include a golf cart as the 10th prize.  The first ticket drawn will win $1000 and the 2nd thu 9th tickets will win $100 and then again the 10th ticket is for the Golf Cart.  Tickets are $25 a piece or 2 for $40 and are available at the Chamber Office, any Chamber Board Member, or from members of the Canal Days Core Committee.  Be sure to get yours today!


The Delphos Masonic Hope Lodge #214 will be giving everyone a chance at sinking some of their fellow citizens at their Dunk Tank. Located near the Social Tent, visitors can try their luck at sending someone for a swim while supporting a good cause!

The Delphos Optimist Bingo Tent has become a permanent fixture in the Canal Days Line Up! The Bingo Tent is located on Third Street across from the Union Bank. The group spends two days of the weekend entertaining the bingo crowds of all ages.  The Bingo tent is located in front on Third Street in front of The Union Bank.  If you are 18 or older, you can stop by and play a game, or a dozen!  Bingo will run on Friday, September 15th from 5:00-10:00 PM and Saturday, September 16th from 1:00-10:00 PM.

Optimist Pancake & Sausage Breakfast is held Saturday morning from 7 – 11:00 AM under the Bingo Tent on Third Street. You can eat in or carry out and the cost is $6.00 for all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee. Be sure to get your tickets today form any Optimist Club member OR just stop by Saturday morning and help support the Optimist Club of Delphos.

The grand parade on Sunday afternoon use to be the big finale for the Canal Days weekend, but not any more. Its the highlight of Sunday and just about everyone in town comes to watch.

The parade begins at 2:00 PM. The Delphos Fire Department handles the lineup and blocks off the parade route for Sundays main event. If you’ve ever thought about being a part of something big, then enter this year’s Canal Days parade. The 12 block route sometime takes 2 hours to complete. Be sure to save space along the parade route, it fills up fast.  Park your lawn chairs along Second Street early so you get a good seat. Don’t forget to bring a bag to carry all the goodies that are passed out during the parade then set back, relax and have fun!

The Trinity United Methodist Church will once again be hosting the “Taste of Trinity” Bake Sale.  Take walk over to 211 E. Third Street to see the goods for sale and help support one of our local churches.  The sale will run from 9:00am-3:00pm on Saturday the 16th, so be sure to stop by, and remember, Simple Simon met a Pie-Man going to the fair!

Calling all farmers! If you have a tractor and aren’t in the field during Canal Days, clean it up and  bring it up to the Canal Days Tractor Show on Saturday, September 17th.  The show is held on the canal parking lot behind the Main Street businesses and there are several categories to register in.  Over $1,000 worth of awards and cash prizes are given away during the show, sponsored by Pitsenbarger Supply. Tractor Show  is held from 9:00 am until noon  with the awards presentation at 12. Even the dirtiest tractors look nice when they are cleaned up for this show.

The invitations are out and the reservations are coming in for 2017 The Toast to the City! This year’s kick-off to the Canal Days festival is set for Thursday, September 14th from 5 – 9 PM.  Once again reservations are $40 per person or $350 for a reserved table for eight.

Canal Days will be celebrating 60th years with a Night of GLITZ & GLAM".  Dress to Impress awards will be given for the best dressed man, woman and couple for this gala event. Over 500 attended last year’s Toast and the chairmen for the event expect even bigger turn out  this year. “This is such a great event for Delphos to come together.   Anytime you have that many people together for a party under a tent it can’t be anything but fun!” said Diane Sterling the Canal Days event coordinator.  “We have a short-but-sweet program with Delphos dignitaries, lots of great food from local restaurants, a superb selection of wines, and perfect background music.  The Toast has been growing ever since its inception 11 years ago for Canal Days 50th Anniversary.  This small hometown festival is the glue that’s holds Delphos together!”

Music for the evening will be provided by Chuck Summer, saxophonist from Lima.

The Young Farmer’s will once again be  putting on their Farm Fit Challenge for those who want to show off their strength and fitness skills using more agriculturally related means.  Show off your skills on the Canal Parking Lot for this year’s event. Contestants will begin competing at 9:00AM.
